The GP Adrie van Der Poel is a cyclocross race that is organized annually in the Dutch town of Hoogerheide.  Cyclocross first came to Hoogerheide in 2000, a special race for Adrie van der Poel who was retiring from a very successful career, so his entire family got to go on stage with him. His boys seemed to like that as Mathieu got on the podium 5 more times as the winner in more recent years.

The course is the same as previous years, lots of up and downs and the big set of stairs in the middle of the course, but overall a very fast course. It's been one of the more exciting races just before the Worlds. In 2009 and 2014, the cyclocross world championship was held on this course.

Let’s have a look at what goes down at the womens race.
Marianne Vos won the World Cup race in Hoogerheide. In the final lap of an exciting cyclo-cross race, Vos finished ahead of Lucinda Brand and Puck Pieterse with Fem van Empel in forth position. With her fifth win of the season, the 34-year-old Dutch rider is confident going to the World Championships in the United States next weekend.

The first non-Dutch rider was Hungarian Kata Blanka Vas in fifth, followed by another cyclist from The Netherlands, Shirin van Anrooij and Silvia Persico of Italy.
The Dutch Denise Betsema and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado were eighth and tenth, with Italian Eva Lechner placing ninth.
